Abstract

In today’s scenario, the public properties are most vulnerable in terms of its protection and safeguard. This is general observation that such properties are easily defaced and devalued by the miscreants to fulfil their different objectives without being caught in the grip of law. To curb this menace, the specific legislations have been made by the State Legislatures having different norms of punishment and procedure. In the light of above facts, the present paper unearths the legal provisions relating to preventing defacement of public properties. Further, it gives some sensible suggestions also.
